We have been buying from Dambi Uddo Washing Station since the early days of the roastery in 2020.

Our aim always been to find harvests which are testament to the care farmers have exulted to the upkeeping of coffee farming practices. This natural lot is sourced from the Daanisa farmers group that comprises 44 farmers and was delivered to Dambi Uddo washing station in Sukkee Qutto, Guji. The lot is named after the local umbrella-shaped Daanisa tree known for its medicinal uses and as shade for coffee trees.

Established in 2019, the Dambi Uddo washing station is situated at high altitudes often exceeding 2,000 meters above sea level, ideal for growing high-quality coffee. This lot represents the exceptional cherry processed separately for traceability, from 44 farmers identified for their superior coffee production.

Harvesting involves selective handpicking of the ripest cherries, which are then floated to remove underweight or damaged beans before being dried on raised beds. Depending on the weather, drying can take up to three weeks. The Guji region, distinct from Sidamo and Yirgacheffe, is renowned for its steep terrain, ample rainfall, and the excellent quality of its coffee, which is gaining international acclaim.

We recommend this coffee to be brewed with filter methods primarily as the delicate floral notes mixed with the sweetness of blueberries and milk chocolate are enhanced in a balance. This coffee is a lovely solid everyday filter that is perfect to start your day with or to tune down in the late afternoon.
