Dambi Uddo sits high in Ethiopia’s Guji zone, where altitudes often reach above 2,000 metres above sea level. This region, with its steep terrain and generous rainfall, offers exceptional conditions for growing unique and expressive coffees. Though Guji was only recently recognised as a distinct origin, its coffees have quickly gained a reputation for their clarity and complexity.
We’ve been working with the Dambi Uddo Washing Station since our early days in 2020. This lot comes from the Daanisa farmers group—a collective of 44 smallholders farming on plots of less than five hectares. It’s named after the daanisa tree, native to the area, which provides shade for coffee trees and plays a vital role in the region’s agroforestry.
Carefully handpicked cherries are floated to remove defects, then naturally dried on raised beds for up to three weeks. Each delivery is processed separately at the station to preserve full traceability and reward quality.
This natural lot is soft and layered, with notes of peach, rosehip and milk chocolate. It brings elegant fruit character and creamy sweetness—a vibrant and balanced choice for espresso.
Big, rich, smooth coffee. Just perfect, as always from Farmhand
